Tenor Peter Jeon

Peter Jeon, tenor, is a prolific performer who has received international recognition for his talent. Among other awards, Peter won first place in the Metropolitan Opera Competition (Western Region 2000), second place in the Schubert International Competition (Italy 1999), and second place in the Tortona International Competition (Italy 1999).

Peter began developing his musical talent early as a member of the Daejeon City Choir for Boys and Girls. After completing high school, he entered the Music Department of Chung Nam National University. At Chung Nam, he trained with Inbae Choi and Youngsuk Kim - where he graduated at the top of his class.

Peter moved to Europe in 1996 to study classical Italian vocal technique at the Milano G. Verdi Conservatorio with Delfo Meniccuci. He graduated with a 10 point perfect score and he received diplomas at Accademia Orfeo and Accademia di Montecarlo as well. He studied Melocchi vocal technique with Maestro Franco Corelli (the internationally acclaimed opera singer) who proclaimed he was one of his best students. Antonio Tonini (Opera Music Director of Milano La Scala) was his music coach. Peter also received a diploma from the Pier Miranda Ferraro Master Class.

Peter has performed in numerous operas, including La Traviata, Rigoletto, La Bohème, Un Ballo in Maschera, and oratorios in Europe.

Since the year 2000, he has been performing with the San Francisco Opera, the Los Angeles Opera, and the Palm Springs Opera Guild. He performed at the Festival Opera in a musical tribute honoring Mario Lanza. Peter travels to various major cities to have his own concerts and solo performances of oratorios and operas. Peter is also the conductor of ANC Onnuri Church choir and a professor at Bethesda University.
